I’m actually travelling in Ethiopia at the moment, and wanted to let you know that I and my travel companion were not happy at all staying in the rundown Mountain View Hotel in Lalibela, where we experienced the following:
We ordered a Pizza for dinner and I had a stone as big as my index finger nail, luckily I didn’t brake a tooth
I experienced massive bites around my ankles while I was sleeping, must have been fleas or mites in the bed, I know the bites weren’t from mosquitos.
In the evening after everyone had gone to bed my companion and I went to the dining room / reception to do our emails and saw 3 to 4 rats roaming around the kitchen/dining and bar one had a bread roll and was trying to take it up the stairs and past the reception. It was disgusting and we left the next day without taking our breakfast.
The only thing this hotel has going for it is the View and the WiFi and it certainly should not be under Upmarket Hotels more Budget or not mentioned at all!
